The Walking Dead Cast Shares Season 4 Memories (PHOTOS)

For us viewers, the fourth season of The Walking Dead wrapped up less than two weeks ago, but for the show’s large and talented cast Season 4 of the AMC has been in the can for months. In fact, the TWD crew is getting ready to go back to Georgia to begin work on Season 5 sometime in the next few weeks.

Almost immediately after the finale various cast and crew members weighed in on the season, with many of them thanking the fans for their unwavering support, and now that a bit more time has passed the cast has been gradually sharing memories of Season 4 on Twitter and other social media outlets.See more

The Walking Dead: Scott Gimple Says Bones Don’t Necessarily Mean Cannibals In Terminus

The big assumption by most viewers of The Walking Dead is that the people of Terminus are cannibals. There is a great deal of compelling evidence which back up the possibility, not the least of which was a scene in the Season 4 Finale that showed Rick, Michonne, Daryl, and Carl running past what appeared to be a lot of bloody human bones.
In an interview with the print edition of TV Guide (on newsstands now), The Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple confirmed that the bones in the Season 4 Finale were human, but he warned viewers not to assume the people of Terminus were cannibals.

“As far as the bones go, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they ate those people – but it definitely doesn’t seem like anything good happened, either,” said Gimple. “We’re going to learn more about Gareth and Terminus [early next season], with answers that will come fast and furious.”
So what about that big grill that Mary was cooking on? Gimple has an explanation for that as well.
“They have a grill, but it might have simply been a parallel to the fact that [a barbecue] was the meeting place of everybody in the prison community,” said Gimple. See more

The Walking Dead: 5 things we want from season 5

The Walking Dead has departed our screens for another seven months - the zombie hit offered up what Digital Spy labelled "a stirring season ender" on Sunday night (March 30), bringing its fourth run to a close.

Audience numbers for the cable series continue to be stellar - both October's premiere and the weekend's finale broke ratings records - but on a creative level, it's been a rocky year.

DS readers, like critics, have been split - for every user arguing that the show had grown "tedious", there was another claiming that The Walking Dead was still growing "stronger week-by-week".

Showrunner Scott Gimple's desire to shake up the format of a show fast becoming a cable veteran was admirable, but it was a venture that has resulted in as many failures as successes.

Season four was in no way an outright failure but it was frustratingly inconsistent, offering up only fleeting bursts of the show's trademark brutal brilliance.

The Walking Dead used to be the best show on television - it remains terrific entertainment, but that lofty title has eluded it of late.

Here's five things the Week in Geek wants from season five - what The Walking Dead needs to do if it wants to fire on all cylinders again. See more

'The Walking Dead' Season 4 finale poster asks who will survive Terminus

"The Walking Dead" Season 4 is heading toward an uncertain finale in Sunday's (March 30) "A." The weird vibes Terminus was sending out in last week's "Us" will be paid off in the last episode of this season, which just might take another character's life.

IGN has a poster teasing "A" which features the tagline: "Who will survive?" The poster shows Carol, so is she someone whose life might be at risk? At least this picture seems to prove she'll be in the episode, as she wasn't featured in any of the promos.

The synopsis for "A" reads: "Rick and the others begin to reunite at Terminus, soon realizing that the marauders are closing in, and that the so-called sanctuary is not exactly what it seems to be."

The season finale of "The Walking Dead" airs at 9 p.m. ET/PT Sunday on AMC. See more

'The Walking Dead': Who will die? (And other fearless finale theories)

Yay! Me made it to Terminus! Sooooooooo…what now? And what is Terminus anyway? And who might not make it out of the season alive? Now presenting: a few fearless theories as to what may happen on Sunday’s season 4 finale of The Walking Dead.

Terminus = To Serve Man
Remember that famous episode of The Twilight Zone where some aliens come down and say they want to take humans to show them their planet. And then the humans decipher the title of the book one of the aliens is carrying as “To Serve Man,” and say “Awwww, isn’t that sweet. They do want to help us.” One problem: IT WAS A FREAKIN’ COOKBOOK!
Could our survivors be walking into a similar trap at Terminus, only this time it is fellow humans doing the cooking…and eating? Well, for one thing, that was a pretty big grill kindly-seeming Mary was tending to when Glenn and company arrived. Also, let us not forget that after fleeing the prison in the comic book, Rick and Co. went up against a group of cannibals called The Hunters who kidnapped a dying Dale and unknowingly chomped on his infected leg. (Surprise!)

Food is getting scarce in the apocalypse so this could be the natural next step in that gnarly progression. But there are other questions about Terminus. Like, why the hell is the gate unlocked so any old zombie can just stroll right in? And why was there nobody there to take the group’s weapons, as mandated on the sign? Clearly some mysteries still to be unraveled here. Let’s just hope the plate of food Mary offered them wasn’t…you know, Beth. See more

The Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs Told “No” For Talking Dead

For the first time ever, Andrew Lincoln will be appearing on the Talking Dead this upcoming Sunday. However, there was someone else that wanted to be on this week’s Talking Dead, but AMC apparently said, “No.”
On Sunday, Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl Grimes, tweeted at Chris Hardwick, “Nerdist you should have me on next week!” Or course, Riggs many fans thought this was a great idea, and they started tweeting their support.

For his part, Hardwick responded, “YOU CAN COME ON WHENEVER YOU LIKE, SIR! #OpenInvitation.”
However, it looks like Hardwick might have spoken too soon. Earlier today, Riggs tweeted, “AMC says NO TALKING DEAD for me-thanks everyone for your support & requests!  @nerdist #ClosedInvitation.”
Chandler Riggs not being allowed on Talking Dead is leading to much speculation as to why. Could it be that something so shocking happens on the Season 4 Finale that AMC didn’t feel it was appropriate to have a child actor on to discuss? Or it is simply that AMC already has the guests planned out and mixing things up this late in the game could cause headaches?
Talking Dead without Chandler Riggs airs on Sunday nights at 10 PM ET on AMC. See more

The Walking Dead: Robert Kirkman Says Rick Grimes Will Shock People in Finale

In a new interview with Entertainment WeeklyThe Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman seemingly confirmed that Rick Grimes will survive the season finale…but suggested that fans will be “shocked” by what the character does in order to do so.
“This is Rick Grimes being pushed to his absolute limit,” Kirkman said, reiterating something he had said in a Reddit AMA earlier in the month. “And if you think you’ve seen that before, you haven’t. And the Rick Grimes that comes out of this is really going to shock people.”
That could gel with some predictions being made online that Daryl’s group — led by the charismatic but brutal Joe — is in fact a twist on The Marauders, a group of violent survivors who brought out Rick’s dark side in the comics and died for their trouble.
Kirkman added that while Rick Grimes hasn’t really been featured in the last several episodes, the second half of Season Four is very much his journey, and fans should expect a resolution of sorts on that score. See more

'The Walking Dead' recap: The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning

It’s the penultimate episode, and the puzzle pieces of the season are finally fitting into place. The picture that they create, however, is a little too idyllic. Maggie and Glenn are reunited, alive and well. (Yay!) Along with them, Sasha, Bob, Tara, Abraham, Rosita, and Eugene have survived. (Yay!) Plus, they have all reached Terminus. (Yay?) I have a sick feeling at the pit of my stomach that Terminus may be home to those with a discerning palate. And I'm not talking sunflower seeds and corn. For more "Us" insights, check out Dalton Ross' initial thoughts here.
Glenn and Tara plus Abraham, Rosita, and Eugene
Glenn, Tara, Abraham, Rosita, and Eugene kick off the episode walking along the seemingly endless route to Terminus. Eugene is chewing Tara’s ear off (metaphorically) as he rambles on and on about dinosaurs, video games, and batteries. For the record, he doesn’t believe as other do that the Zombie Virus killed of the dinosaurs, as others may believe. Then again, it’s “enjoyable as hell to think of an undead ankylosaur going after a diplodocus. That there is a video game worthy of a pre-order.” This guy is supposed to carry the secret to the cause of the Zombie Virus? Sure he is.
At night, Abraham and Tara keep watch as the others sleep. Abraham speculates on why Tara is so loyal to Glenn. At first, he suggests it's because she’s in love with him, a “girl in love with the guy she’s trying to help to get to his girl” situation. This isn’t some kind of post-apocalyptic Some Kind of Wonderful. Instead, the shadow of the Governor and her guilt over the events at the Prison loom large over her. See more

Editing will prove tricky when 'The Walking Dead' moves to broadcast TV

The dead will rise, but the zombies might be ripping off fewer body parts when “The Walking Dead” comes to network TV this fall.
An edited version of the hit AMC cable show — arguably one of the best dramas currently on television — will make the difficult leap from cable to broadcast TV. “Walking Dead” repeats will air on the Fox-owned MyNetworkTV stations across the nation, including locally on WWOR/Ch.9.
It’s not going to be an easy transition. Cable, after all, is not bound by the same FCC content regulations that broadcasters are compelled by law to follow.
“Dead” is indeed one of the darkest, most violent shows on TV. That makes sense since it follows a group of people fighting to survive in a postapocalyptic world. Most of the population has turned into flesh-eating zombies — monsters who ooze ichor and slough off bits of rotting meat as they hunt.
Sources at the station group admit they are wrestling with how to edit the show for a broadcast network. But they assure anyone who asks that the series will conform to TV-14 standards. The FCC defines those like this: “Parents are cautioned against letting children under the age of 14 watch unattended.” See more

'The Walking Dead' Season 4: Is Rick still the most important character? (poll)

CLEVELAND, Ohio – There was no doubt from the first episode of AMC's "The Walking Dead" (or the cover of the first comic book) who the main character was.
It was so easy to connect to the terror felt by Rick Grimes (played excellently by Andrew Lincoln) as he awoke in a hospital to discover a horrifying version of the world he once knew.
As the show progressed and supporting characters took on larger roles, Rick still remained the major focal point. However, towards the end of Season 3 a shift started to take place. The season was split between the situation at the prison and the events at Woodbury.
That shift has been even more extreme during Season 4, whose first half focused heavily on The Governor (to a fault, if you ask me). Now, during the second of half of Season 4, we've seen the least amount of Rick since the show began in 2011. See more

8 Revelations About The Walking Dead From Robert Kirkman's Reddit AMA

AMC's The Walking Dead is a massive multimedia story line these days, spanning comic books, novels, video games and, of course, the highest-rated series on television. And at the epicenter of this sprawling narrative empire is its creator, comic-book writer Robert Kirkman.
So fans were understandably excited this week to see Kirkman offer himself up for a Reddit AMA ("Ask Me Anything") session. Many of his comments had implications not just for the comics he continues to write each month, but also for the show and other extensions that remain loyal to his vision.
We compiled a few of his more interesting responses, which cover everything from his willingness to kill off beloved characters to his complicated feelings on the TV series' high-profile turnover of showrunners:
1. He's not afraid to kill off Rick.
Q: Is Rick Grimes a "safe" character?
A: ABSOLUTELY NOT. Although when I look in Andrew Lincoln's piercing blue eyes I FEEL safe.
2. Even Daryl, a popular show-only character played by Norman Reedus, could get killed off.
Q: How does popularity, if at all, affect the survival rate of characters? Have you ever killed a character just because they were popular and you wanted to shake things up?
A: In my opinion, I feel like characters ripen like fruit. So while I wouldn't say the more popular a character is the more likely they are to die, they do have to reach a certain level of popularity before they've "earned" the death. No character is too popular to die. (Suck it, Reedus!)
Q: How's your relationship with Reedus and the rest of the cast? Does it influence in their character's fate? See more

'The Walking Dead' Season 4, episode 14 recap: 'The Grove' is where innocence dies

"The Walking Dead" has finally proven once and for all that the true horror of a zombie apocalypse lies in the people it affects instead of the monsters it creates. And, sometimes, those two things are one and the same.

Truly it's going to take a while and several viewings to process the devastating and horrifying events of Season 4, episode 14 "The Grove." The audience has known for the majority of the season that there is something seriously damaged about Lizzie. But to find her with her younger sister's blood covering her hands while pleading with Carol and Tyreese to wait until Mika changed into a walker to prove she is still the same person was heartbreaking and disturbing.

"The Walking Dead" Season 4 has been about the way the apocalypse changes people. It's focused on showing how living in a world filled with walkers affects the youth, especially in the story of Lizzie and Mika. This episode especially highlighted that, as Mika couldn't live because she is too sweet, and Lizzie couldn't live because she no longer could see the difference between human and monster.

Maybe the change in morality that the zombie apocalypse has brought on the still-living characters has turned them into monsters as well. Mika says something ahead of her years when she says that she pities the humans who try to kill their group because they probably weren't that bloodthirsty or desperate to survive beforehand. And she was probably right. See more

The Walking Dead sneak peek: Tyreese and Carol split up?

In the last episode of The Walking Dead, "Alone," some of the survivors were split apart and reunited, while others were just split apart.
Maggie, Sasha and Bob made a good team and even found a way to fight walkers in blinding fog. But when Sasha decided that she wanted to stop at some random town and find more permanent shelter rather than keep looking for Terminus and Glenn, Maggie put her foot down and struck out on her own. It was a scary moment, wondering if Maggie would die out on the road by herself. It became even scarier when Bob made the decision to split from Sasha and go out looking for Maggie. Suddenly all three of them were by themselves and it was with a huge sigh of relief that fans saw them reunited at the end of the episode.

Say it ain't so! Is The Walking Dead setting up Daryl and Beth? >>

Things didn't go nearly as well for Daryl and Beth. They found themselves a well-stocked funeral home and the two were getting on quite well with plenty of food and a nice, quiet place to lay their weary heads. But peace never lasts for long on The Walking Dead and soon they were overrun by walkers and forced to split up. But as has become a running theme on the show, it was a band of humans that were much more dangerous when they kidnapped Beth and left Daryl alone on the road. He was soon found by a group of hooligans, the very same group that threatened Rick, Michonne and Carl not too long ago. See more

'The Walking Dead' Season 4 Spoilers: Glenn Or Maggie To Die On Next 'Big Episode'?

The next episode of The Walking Dead will air this Sunday, and according to creator Robert Kirkman, this episode is definitely a must-see with speculation on future relationships and which of the characters will die next.
On Friday, Entertainment Weekly posted an interview with the creator, who dished on the series and why the characters have all separated and paired up with others.
"The overall idea here was to get characters out of their comfort zone," Kirkman said. "Outside of Rick and Carl, you're not really seeing characters that are often associated with each other grouped together. So Glenn and Maggie are separated. Daryl and Carol are obviously separated. Tyreese and his sister are separated. We really wanted to do the most interesting pair-ups."
Kirkman then mentioned that this next episode will be a huge deal and full of memorable surprises.
"I would say this is a big one. It's definitely one that people are going to remember and it's definitely one people are going to talk about," Kirkman said. "If there is one episode of The Walking Dead that you absolutely had to watch this season, it would be this one. You kind of have to watch all of them, but it's going to be a big episode. We're going to catch a lot of people off guard." See more

'The Walking Dead' season 4 episode 14 sneak peek 'The Grove' (videos)

Walkers growling. Bugs buzzing.
Leaves rustling. Engines running.
Footsteps crunching. Bullets flying.
Conversation.
These familiar sounds have dominated the audio landscape of "The Walking Dead" series until episode 14 titled "The Grove."
But for the first time since the apocalypse began, we hear music. We hear the gas and its flame on a stove.
The luxury of such modern conveniences stands in stark contrast with the brutality of those struggling to survive, as we revisit Tyreese, Carol, Judith, Lizzie and Mika, and await an explanation for Beth's whereabouts.

Room with a view
In one of the previews, the camera pans through a kitchen filled with pots and food The low hiss of a flame warms a kettle. Music plays softly in the background.
The camera stops at a dirty window, where a walker is seen chasing someone in what appears to be the backyard of a house.
This scene is disturbing on several levels. We could be watching this chase from someone's particular point of view, a dispassionate observer content to watch from a safe distance.
Or we could be seeing the story unfold before us.
This voyeurism -- ours and the person in the kitchen -- makes the scene all the more horrifying and inhuman. Could this woman be Beth? And who is the person watching her? See more

‘The Walking Dead’ Recap: Another One (Essentially) Bites The Dust

Boy, things have been pretty sad over in ‘Walking Dead’ land ever since the Governor laid waste to the prison back in December, huh? Luckily, on the March 9 episode ‘Alone,’ things got much better for everyone’s favorite zombie apocalypse survivors. Just kidding!

Things just got a whole lot crappier for at least two beloved characters on The Walking Dead. From major Walker kills to sweet reunions to kidnappings to tribes of maybe-cannibals to Daryl (Norman Reedus) complimenting Beth’s (Emily Kinney) singing, read all about tonight’s madness below!

‘The Walking Dead’ — Beth Kidnapped After Bonding With Daryl

How do you find your way out of a potentially controversial romantic pairing? Get the female half kidnapped, of course!
Okay, so we don’t know for sure that Beth was kidnapped, but I’m pretty sure that she would never hop in a car and leave Daryl at the drop of a hat — unless, of course, the car was being driven by Tom Waits. Beth’s kidnapping was gut-wrenching, because — unlike last week, which felt like a strange diversion, not to mention a bit heavy-handed in the metaphor department — her scenes with Daryl were sweet, optimistic, and most importantly realistic this week. Lauren Cohan to Walking Dead fans: 'There's hope for Glenn, Maggie'

Lauren Cohan has urged Walking Dead fans not to give up hope that her character Maggie will be reunited with Glenn (Steven Yeun).

Maggie trying to find one another, after being separated following The Governor's (David Morrissey) assault on the prison.

Cohan recently told Entertainment Weekly Radio that Maggie and Glenn's determination could very likely lead them to reunite.

"It's really the first time we've seen Maggie outside of the family Greene and without Glenn," she explained.
"It's such a necessary hope [that they have] and I definitely feel that invisible bridge between Glenn and Maggie the whole time of trying to find each other, and needing that." See more

The Walking Dead Alone Non-Spoiler Review: Pieces Coming Together

Last week’s episode of The Walking Dead was very much a character story. The “Still” episode provided a great deal more insight into the characters of Daryl Dixon and Beth Greene, but it didn’t really address a lot of the burning questions that fans are waiting to have answered. We’ve seen an advance screening of the “Alone” episode of The Walking Dead, but we’re not allowed to give away any spoilers, so here’s what we can tell you about the tone of the episode (along with some stuff already evident from previews).
The “Alone” episode also provides some more character insight, but it also goes much further in putting all the pieces of the puzzle together. There is more Daryl and Beth in the “Alone” episode, but they are not the sole focus of the episode. As shown in previews, Maggie, Sasha, and Bob Stookey also are a big part of the “Still” episode.
While the “Still” episode does a pretty good job of balancing the time between cast members, there is a character, who gets quite a bit more screen time than he has in the past. Up until this point on the show, Bob Stookey is probably best remembered as the character that got Beth’s boyfriend killed and that Daryl got angry at because he was more concerned about picking up a bottle of booze than medical supplies.
Bob Stookey has been one of the most mysterious characters on The Walking Dead, as fans seem divided over whether he’s a good guy, an evil twisted creep, or a worthless drunk. Some suspect that Stookey might have been behind feeding the walkers and the rat dissection at the prison, even though Lizzie is a likely suspect as well. See more
