iPad Helps Broadway Director Stay in Step

To stage a Broadway show, director and choreographer Jeff Whiting has to keep track of dozens of dancers and thousands of steps. He’s found that iPad is the best tool for the job. Whiting uses a “show bible” to chart and organize every step of a production. “Before iPad,” Whiting says, “we had to document all the choreography and staging manually, by drawing on pieces of paper.” This could add up to thousands of sheets of paper. Whiting developed Stage Write, an exclusively iOS app that digitizes the entire process. “iPad frees me up to focus on the creativity, rather than the practicalities, of staging a Broadway musical,” he says.
